10 teams will be divided into 2 groups, A & B having 5 teams each.
Each team will play all other teams in the group. (4 matches each, 10 matches per group in total and 20 Group matches in total)
All group matches must finish by 29th June, Sunday (Over 7 weeks, averaging less than 3 matches per week)
All Group/Knockout games will be played with a single game of 21 points as normal. For 20-20 deuce - we play on till there is a 2 point difference to get the winner.
A Team gets 2 points for each win.
If teams are tied on points during group stages Net Score Difference will be taken into account.
In the unlikely scenario of NSD also equal than a tie breaker game will be played 21 points between the tied teams.
Top 4 from each group will proceed to the Quarterfinals as below:
A1 vs B4, B1 vs A4, A2 vs B3 and B2 vs A3
Quarters to be best of 3, 21-point games as normal. For Deuce - you play on till a 2 point difference wins.
Semis will be as below:
Winner of A1vB4 vs Winner of B2vA3
Winner of B1vA4 vs Winner of A2vB3
Semis to be best of 3, 21-point games. For Deuce - you play on till a 2 point difference wins.
Final to be best of 3, 21-point games. For Deuce - you play on till a 2 point difference wins.
Losing Semi-finalists will play best of 3, 21-point games for the 3rd position. For Deuce - you play on till a 2 point difference wins.
Games can be played during the week organised by the teams themselves. (Wednesdays or Sundays or any day)
It is the responsibility of the winning team for each match to report their scores accurately in the WhatsApp group (HHB League Scores)
If there are any Group Games not complete by 29th June, neither team gets any points for it unless a forfeit scenario as below comes in place.
If a team has has been available for less than half of the Sundays alotted for the group games, then the opponent team can claim a forfeit for 2 points for any incomplete matches, subject to HHB committee decision.
A team can also willingly forfeit a match and grant the opponent 2 points due to unavailability.
In case of forfeited matches, the NSD will be calculated as the average positive NSD of all winning matches of the team benefitting from the forfeit.
For knockout matches dates can be flexible due to unavailability - provided both teams agree and subject to HHB Committee Decision as long as we can finish the league by last Sunday of August.
